Personal piece based on the "Creature Box" concept art style. This was done to show case some of my current skill sets. Also as a challenge, I did all the high poly work totally inside zbrush. (He has a gun made entirely in zbrush).
This is still a work in progress as I am waiting for one of my co-workers to create Skeletal Animations. As you will see in the marmoset viewer, I already created the other animations myself, which include: Retracting glass on his helmet, The muzzle flash on the gun, and The shells flying. These non-Skeletal Animations were done entirely by me, (inside of Marmoset Toolbag 3).
The topology, and textures have all been optimized to run in Next Gen Games, and you should find them to be very game friendly in general (topology and uv distribution). When the animations are done, he will have an: idle, that transitions into him putting the glass on his helmet up, taking a few shots / jumping around, then back to his idle.
Pretty much everything is in a finished state, except the Skeletal Animations at this point (not shown), which; again won't be done by me.
Therefore, everything you see here is 100% done by me, except the concept (not Entirely done by me) as it is a photo bashed paintover. I have included an image of my process here which is self explanatory.
-The textures are 2k each, and they are broken into 3 sets... 1 x for skin areas (head, arms, tail), 1x for armor and cloth, 1 x for the gun.
-The creature is roughly 30k tris and the gun is 9k tris.
